The Echo Beach jazz band was formed in 1991, as a percussion ensemble, in Pacifica, California. In rapid succession the group built a following which led to performances from Sonoma's Harvest Festival opening for Lavay Smith, to a public concert in the Civic Plaza in Phoenix, Arizona. Along the way, the band flourished and grew into a jazz ensemble which performs standards (reaching back to the work of Miles Davis and Wayne Shorter in the 1950s) up to today's innovators such as Pat Metheny. The band also writes and performs original material.

You can hear samples of their live work at:

The band plays regularly at the Lake Chalet in Oakland and their original material has been used in a stage play and multiple video productions. The Billboard Songwriting Contest gave a "Radio Quality" rating to their original tune, "Delicate Creature".

The Echo Beach lineup on April 9th will be guitar / bass / drums / vibraphone and percussion.

Conard Underground

Conard Underground showcases some of the musicians in the Conard community -- spanning many districts of San Francisco. The band was drawn together in Conard House's music program. Performing on guitar, vocals, keyboards and percussion they showcase a depth of musical taste and knowledge and a love for the best songs of the past 50 years.
