James L. McGhee

Chairperson

James McGhee is President and CEO of JLM Management group, strategic planning and management consultants. James has 30 years of entrepreneurial experience and public service. Mr. McGhee currently serves as President, Mental Health Board, City and County of San Francisco; Vice President, California Board of Psychology; and member representing Bay Area region, California association of Local Mental Health Boards and Commissions. He is the former national chair of MED-Week (Minority Enterprise Development) under the auspices of the U.S. Department of Commerce and Small Business Administration. Mr. McGhee holds a BA in Public Administration, University of Puget Sound, Tacoma, Washington. Appointed in 2006.

Mylea Charvat

Vice-Chairperson

Mylea Charvat currently works with the Women's Prevention Outreach and Education Center and the Palo Alto Veterans Administration as a psychotherapist. She is an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors of the International Society of Traumatic Stress Studies. Ms. Charvat holds a Master's of Science in Clinical Health Psychology, Pacific Graduate School of Psychology, Palo Alto, California. Appointed in 2005.

Judith Graboyes

Treasurer

Judith Graboyes currently works with Silicon Valley Bank, Community Development Finance. Formerly Vice President, Community Banking for Bank of America, she has been working for more than a decade in affordable housing development and management. Ms. Graboyes holds a BA in Management, St. Mary's College, Moraga, California; Master's of Real Estate Development, University of Southern California. Appointed in 2006.

Alan (Mickey) Shipley

Secretary

Mickey Shipley is a mental health consumer, spokesperson and advocate. He has served on planning and oversight committees for implementation of the Mental Health Services Act. Completed initial board service in 2005. Appointed in 2007.

Mary Hennessy

Director

Mary Hennessy is the Director of Property Management of the East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation. She has more than 15 years of experience as the director of property and assessment management and community development for nonprofit community and real estate development organizations and local government. She holds a BA from the University of California, Irvine and an MBA from Dominican University of California. Appointed in 2008.

Richard Heasley

Executive Director

Richard Heasley was appointed Executive Director of Conard House in 1995. He has been working in the nonprofit human services sector for more than 35 years, providing executive leadership and financial management. Mr. Heasley is a member and past President of the San Francisco Mental Health Contractors Association; member of the Steering Committee of the San Francisco Human Services Network; member of the Executive Committee of the Supported Housing Employment Collaborative. He holds a BA in Philosophy, Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio; Master's in Public Administration, California State University, Hayward, California.

Louise Foo, Ph.D.

Director, Clinical Services

Louise Foo, Ph.D. oversees Jackson Street Residential Treatment and outpatient services at seven Conard Supportive Housing sites. She also is responsible for the Conard House psychology practicum training program. Dr. Foo received her B.A. in psychology from UC Berkeley and M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Southern California. She completed an APA-approved psychology internship at Pacific Clinics, California with a major rotation at the Asian Pacific Family Center (Pacific Clinics). Her clinical interests include multicultural psychology, community mental health, and chronic mental illnesses.

Tom Genelli, Ph.D.

Director, Clinical Training

Tom Genelli, Ph.D. has served as Director of Clinical Services for Conard House since 1996. In his current capacity as Director of Clinical Training, he now oversees all infrastructure and resource development and staff training. He also supervises the Health Education Project. Dr.Genelli previously served as the Program and Clinical Director of Conard House's Jackson Street Residential Treatment Program and Asian Residential Services. He first joined Conard House in 1988 as a Counselor at the Jackson Street program. Dr. Genelli holds a BA, University of Hawaii; Master's, Annenberg School of Communications, University of Pennsylvania; Ph.D., The Wright Institute, Berkeley, California.

Seth Katzman

Director, Supportive Housing & Community Services

Seth Katzman serves as Director of Supportive Housing and Community Services since 1994. He has more than 30 years experience in behavioral health in the San Francisco Bay Area. Mr. Katzman holds an MA in Clinical Psychology, Lone Mountain College, San Francisco, California; Master's in Public Health, University of California, Berkeley, California.
